ELIGIBILITY : WHO CAN APPLY FOR CHILDREN EDUCATION ASSISTANCE
The Children Education Allowance (CEA) for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) has the following rules:
  • The scheme is applicable for the first two children of an ESM or their widow.
  • Exservicemen up to the Rank of Hav/Sgt/PO/Honorary Nb Sub and their Widows are eligible. JCOs, Officers and their Widows are NOT eligible.
  • If the second and third children are twins, all three children are eligible.
  • If the first or second child dies, the second and third children mentioned in the discharge book are eligible.
  • The child must have passed and been promoted to the next higher class.
  • Proof of passing the class must be provided.
  • The ESM or widow should not receive a similar grant from other sources.
  • A self-certificate is required.
  • The ESM who retired between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024 must submit an offline application form to the Record Office through the concerned ZSB.
  • The CEA is admissible until the end of the academic year in which the officer ceases to be in service.
  • The payment is made by the office in which the officer worked before retirement, discharge, dismissal, or removal from service.
  • The upper age limit for Divyaang children is 22 years, and for other children, it is 20 years or until they pass 12th class, whichever is earlier.
